Random Musings As To Why I Can't Get Things Done...

I thought maybe if I treated my blog as a type of journal, I might see patterns in why I don't as much done in a day as I'd like.

  1. Get up, answer 15 questions from my 10 year old before a cup of coffee.
  2. See two nesting hawks in the yard, (very cool by the way).  Kid says I cannot go outside until Dad comes to see the hawks.
  3. Moved on the packaging since the USPS closes at 12 pm.
  4. Feed cats, and pig.  Go ask chickens why they haven't laid any eggs.
  5. Put away grocery delivery.  Weightlifting done.  Well, until I do laundry.
  6. Family not making a move to leave, so I drive to the post office.
  7. Did you brush your teeth???
  8. Come home, throw about 50 lbs. of laundry around. Déjà vu runs rampant in this house.
  9. Must sit and watch the rest of Avatar.   I've never seen it.  I liked the blue people.
  10. Wash dishes.
  11. Force family to eat lunch.  I've got to make more bread.
  12. Wash next 25 lbs. of laundry.
  13. Sweep, and see all the spiderwebs from the lovely house spiders we have.
  14. Work on listings for a while.  Get stuck sharing on Poshmark.
  15. Argue with child about screen time.  And boredom, and how I can give out the old saying "I'll give you something to do if you're bored. And snacks.  And brushing teeth and hair. Every day.
  16. Played pool on the pool table; good way to teach the child about geometry (games are great for home schooling).  You got to catch those teachable moments.
  17. Make another pot of coffee so I can have the energy to work on the listings.
  18. Husband is bored, what do I want to do now since I sat down to work on listings.
  19. What to make for dinner that will have the family jumping for joy.
  20. Continue drinking the coffee.
  21. Feed the chickens, cats and pig.  Yell about responsibility helping feed the animals. Talk to the pig for a minute.
  22. Eat the wonderful (not) dinner. Vegan by the way, this doesn't help with new recipes.
  23. Put away clean dishes.  Fill sink back up with dirty dinner dishes.  Déjà vu again.
  24. Try to think of ways to be more productive.
  25. Look at Pinterest for creative ideas.  Feel less productive.
  26. Guilting of tripping on my phone.  Worry about the state of affairs in the world right now.
  27. Realize I'm having an anxiety attack, mostly from coffee.
  28. Need to do more listings, too tired.
  29. Worry about why my stuff isn't selling.  Did the internet die?
  30. Work on this blog.
  31. It's 6:52 pm, EST.
And this is Saturday in a nutshell as of this moment.  Here is a shameless plug for one of those creative productions I have produced this week:

So, I haven't written about our Kune Kune pig before.  He's a runaway stray pig we found on our front yard about 3 years ago.  He's black and white, with teats on his face, and is a sweet loving pig.  We're so glad he came into our lives.  Not many can say they have a stray pig, let alone a Kune Kune.  And, he has a heart on his side.

His name, Heavy D, short for Heavy Duty.  He's grown to about 250 pounds, and he loves his belly rubs, and snacks.  Loves some snack.  Heavy is very smart, he can sit, and miraculously, stand up on his back legs.   But the treat has to be very good for that one!

Heavy's story is funny one.  One day I was walking down our little road on my way to the chicken coop to check on the girls for the night.  I look over to my left, and there is this dog sort of thing eating.  I stood there for a second, looked away, looked back.  It's a pig!  He's only a youngster, maybe 2 months old.

You do not run after a pig to catch it.  You need snacks, good snacks.  He'd taken up residence beside our chicken coop, kind of in the bushes.  But he was very sneaky about it.

So, a few days of snacks later, he decided to trust us.  We led him to our old sheep house/shed, currently unoccupied.  He moved in and never looked back.

This is about 3 years ago....

This is now!
